Turkey may be roughly divided into two areas for purposes of a
general overview of its climate. The western area on or near the
coast enjoys a lovely and varied climate, with cold winters, very
warm summers and delightful spring and autumn seasons. The weather
in Turkey in the central and eastern regions of the country is more
extreme, with freezing, snow-bound winters and scorching
summers.
Due to its wonderful climate and beautiful beaches, Turkey's
west and south coast overflows with sun-seeking northern Europeans
from May through September, making sights much more crowded than in
the off season. Consequently late April to early May and late
September to early October are often ideal times to travel
Turkey.
