Vivid Vietnam | 14 Days

Day 1 Begin your journey in historic Hanoi exploring the city’s highlights—the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Hanoi Opera House and Temple of Literature—with your private guide.
Day 2
Explore Hanoi’s bustling Old Quarter, a vibrant district of bustling shops, interesting sights and tantalizing food.
Day 3

Drive to Halong Bay for a scenic boat tour of one of Vietnam’s most picturesque and iconic destinations. Spend the night aboard a Chinese sampan afloat in the turquoise waters.

Day 4

Journey back to Hanoi and settle into your cabin aboard the overnight train to the frontier town of Sapa.

Day 5

Breakfast with a sweeping view of the terraced rice paddies and spend the rest of the day visiting hill tribes and touring traditional villages before spending the night in a traditional Sapa guesthouse.

Day 6

Explore the tribal hub of Sapa. Shop for colorful souvenirs and handicrafts at the traditional markets. Sample the fresh, local cuisine before catching the overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 7

Enjoy a relaxing breakfast in Hanoi before boarding the short flight to Hue. Spend the afternoon exploring the historic Imperial City before sampling a variety of local delicacies for dinner.

Day 8

Cruise the Perfume River for a close look at the peaceful Vietnamese countryside. Tour the mausoleums of ancient emperors along the way.

Day 9

Follow the coast South to Danang, stopping to see the unmistakable Marble Mountains and the long white expanse of China Beach before continuing on to quaint, coastal Hoi An.

Day 10

Spend the morning on a walking tour of the bridges and beaches of Hoi An. Then head to a private cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare traditional Vietnamese dishes.

Day 11

Fly to Saigon and take an guided afternoon tour of the city center. Savor the chance to wander Saigon’s colorful markets before returning to the hotel.

Day 12

Drive just outside of Saigon to explore the historic Cu Chi Tunnels—nerve center of the Viet Cong during the American War (as it is called locally). Visit the temples of Tay Ninh in the evening.

Day 13

Board a local craft for a cruise on the legendary, life-giving waters of the Mekong Delta. Explore the region’s unique floating markets and quaint rural scenes.

Day 14

Visit any favorite spots or sights you might have missed before bidding farewell to Saigon and boarding your flight home or to another fabulous Asian destination.

Trekking, Tribes, Rivers and Cities | 13 Days

Day 1 Fly to Hanoi. Transfer to town for tour. Overnight Hanoi.
Day 2
Further guided exploration of Hanoi. Overnight Hanoi.
Day 3

Drive to Mai Chau. Half-day trek. Overnight Mai Chau Lodge.

Day 4

Full day trek through Mai Chau valley. Overnight Mai Chau Lodge.

Day 5

Morning return to Hanoi. Fly to Hué. Overnight Hué.

Day 6

Perfume River cruise, mausoleums, city market. Afternoon visit Citadel, Thien Mu Overnight Hué.

Day 7

Drive to Danang. Visit Marble Mountain & China Beach. Overnight Hoi An.

Day 8

Full day to explore Hoi An, bicycle, beaches. Overnight Hoi An.

Day 9

Fly Danang to Saigon. Afternoon tour of Saigon. Overnight Saigon.

Day 10

Morning tour of Cu Chi Tunnels. Afternoon tour of city. Overnight Saigon.

Day 11

Drive to Cai Be, board boat for overnight cruise in the Mekong Delta visiting villages. Overnight on board.

Day 12

Visit floating markets then disembark and return to Saigon. Overnight Saigon.

Fly on to next destination or home.

Plan Your Journey

Every trip begins by us wanting to know you better. For starters we'll want to know who you're traveling with, your travel dates, any special interests you may have and what types of hotels you prefer. You may not know the answer to all the questions—don't worry, that's where we come in.

Traveler Questionnaire

Use the following questions to help you think about your ideal journey - better yet copy and paste them into an email and send them off our our knowledgable Travel Specialists who can then provide some suggestions.

  1. Will you be traveling with family or friends? How many people are in your group?
  2. Do you have specific dates in mind?
  3. About how many days do you expect the trip to last?
  4. Which destinations are you interested in?
  5. Do you have specific interests that you would like to concentrate on such as art, architecture, archaeology, wildlife, spas, cuisine, textiles, religion, sports, schools or nature?
  6. Do you like to have activities planned sun up to sun down, or do you prefer some downtime?
  7. Do you have an interest in active travel (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.)?
  8. If you are of active disposition, do you consider 2 hours of hiking enough or do you like to go all day?
  9. On trips past, what were some of the activities or specific things that you most enjoyed?
  10. What type of accommodations do you generally prefer? Only five-star? Small, boutique properties? Nice, but not over the top?
  11. Do you have an approximate budget in mind for the trip?
  12. Are you celebrating a special occasion on this journey?
  13. Do you plan to use frequent flyer miles or reward points for international travel?
  14. Do you plan to book your own air or use our company's in-house air department?
